Madhya Pradesh Approves Mega Plan For Constituency Level Sports Complexes

In a decisive move to revolutionise sports infrastructure at the grassroots level, the Madhya Pradesh cabinet has officially approved a comprehensive financial layout amounting to Rs 962.5 crore. This ambitious policy aims to construct modern sports complexes in all 230 assembly constituencies across the state. By decentralising sports development, the government seeks to ensure that talented youth in remote and rural areas have access to professional-grade training facilities without needing to migrate to major urban centres.

Comprehensive Infrastructure and Modern Facilities

The newly approved sports complexes are designed to be multi-disciplinary hubs capable of hosting a wide variety of indoor and outdoor games. According to the blueprint approved by the state cabinet, each complex will feature standard running tracks, football and cricket fields, basketball courts, and dedicated indoor halls for badminton, wrestling, and weightlifting. Additionally, the master plan incorporates modern gymnasiums, changing rooms, spectator galleries, and administrative blocks to manage local tournaments efficiently.

A notable and unique feature of this multi-crore infrastructure project is the inclusion of a dedicated helipad at every single sports complex. State officials explained that these helipads are strategically integrated to facilitate swift emergency medical evacuations during major state-level sporting events, and to allow seamless logistical access for visiting dignitaries, state ministers, and sports administrators. This dual-purpose design highlights the government's forward-thinking approach to safety and connectivity in rural constituencies.

Fostering Grassroots Talent and Regional Development

Sports enthusiasts and policy analysts have long argued that India's vast athletic potential remains untapped due to a lack of proper training infrastructure outside major metropolitan areas.
