NSS Chief Slams CM Satheesan for 'Arrogance,' Denied Meetings

However, permission for the meeting was denied on both occasions. This denial, according to Nair, represents a 'brazen show of arrogance' from a leader who, in earlier times, had visited the NSS headquarters seeking support.

During his address, Nair emphasized the strength and independence of the NSS, asserting that while Satheesan may believe he can undermine the organization, the NSS has considerable power if it chooses to act. He urged members of the Nair community to remain united and reiterated that the NSS would not be 'beholden to anyone'. With around 5,300 Karayogams across the state, the NSS wields significant influence over its members and has traditionally maintained a policy of 'equidistance' from all political parties, intervening when it perceives existential threats to community welfare or Hindu traditions. Nair himself has, at times, faced protests from within the NSS over his political stances, such as his support for the LDF government on the Sabarimala issue.
