Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Attacks Samajwadi Party Over Lord Ram

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has reignited political tensions in the state by launching a scathing attack on the opposition Samajwadi Party (SP). Speaking at a public event, the senior leader accused the regional party of being allergic to the name of Lord Ram, drawing a direct historical parallel between the opposition camp and Mughal emperor Babur.

Adityanath claimed that the mindset of the Samajwadi Party leadership mirrors that of historical invaders who sought to undermine the cultural and religious fabric of the country. He asserted that just as Babur and his sympathizers were disturbed by the prominence of indigenous cultural symbols, the modern-day leadership of the Samajwadi Party exhibits similar discomfort whenever the name of Lord Ram is invoked in public discourse.

'The people of Uttar Pradesh and the entire nation are watching how certain political factions display open irritation when they hear the name of Lord Ram,' Adityanath stated during his address. 'Their political survival depends on appeasement, and consequently, they find it difficult to reconcile with the cultural resurgence taking place across the country.'

The Chief Minister further elaborated that the opposition party has consistently opposed developmental and cultural initiatives that aim to restore the historical heritage of Uttar Pradesh. According to Adityanath, every time the state administration takes steps to honour its spiritual roots, the opposition attempts to create hurdles and polarize society for short-term political gains.

Political analysts note that these remarks are part of a broader narrative by the ruling party to frame upcoming political battles around cultural identity and development. The invocation of Lord Ram and historical figures remains a potent theme in Uttar Pradesh politics, where religious and cultural symbolism frequently intersects with electoral strategies.
