YSRCP Slams Coalition's 'Vindictive' Crackdown on Social Media Activists

The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has vehemently condemned what it describes as a 'vindictive' campaign by the new ruling coalition in Andhra Pradesh against social media activists. The party asserts that these individuals are being systematically targeted and harassed for merely exercising their democratic right to free speech by highlighting perceived failures in the state's governance. This strong accusation comes amid growing concerns over the shrinking space for dissent and critical commentary online, particularly in the aftermath of the recent state elections.

YSRCP leaders, speaking from their party headquarters in Guntur, articulated their deep apprehension regarding the alleged crackdown. They claim that numerous social media users, who have been vocal in scrutinizing the policies and actions of the current Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Jana Sena, and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alliance government, are facing undue pressure, including legal notices, police questioning, and even arbitrary arrests.
