Saini Declares 'Era of Falsehood' Over, Hails Modi's Transformative India

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini recently launched a sharp critique against the Congress party, declaring that its 'era of falsehood' is definitively over and that India is undergoing a profound transformation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. Speaking at a press conference to commemorate 12 years of PM Modi's tenure, Saini stated that despite ruling India for 55 years, the principal opposition party failed to empower the nation and instead misled its citizens through what he termed a 'politics of deception.'

Saini highlighted the dramatic shift in India's trajectory, characterizing the 12 years of the Modi-led government as a 'historic era' marked by growing self-confidence, self-reliance, and an enhanced global stature. He recalled a time when India was often referred to as a 'land of potential' but asserted that today, it stands before the world as a 'land of achievements.' Under PM Modi, Saini emphasized, India has reawakened its cultural consciousness, seamlessly integrating modernity with tradition.

Among the significant accomplishments, Saini underscored India's economic progress, noting its transition from the world's 11th-largest economy in 2014 and its steady movement towards becoming the fourth-largest. He attributed this rapid growth to pivotal reforms such as the Goods and Services Tax (GST), the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, and various 'Ease of Doing Business' initiatives. The Chief Minister also hailed India's digital revolution as one of the government's greatest achievements, citing the widespread success of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and the opening of over 53 crore Jan Dhan accounts.

A cornerstone of the Modi government's philosophy, according to Saini, has been its unwavering focus on the welfare of the poor, giving practical expression to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya's 'Antyodaya' principle—uplifting the last person in the line. He also lauded the country's resilience and leadership during challenging times, such as the Covid-19 pandemic, where India remarkably turned adversity into opportunity. On the global stage, Saini affirmed that India's role is now far more influential and decisive, with its voice being strongly heard in international forums like the G20, BRICS, and the UN.

Women's empowerment has been placed at the center of governance, Saini added, citing historic steps like the 'Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam,' which ensures 33% reservation for women in Parliament and state assemblies. He also mentioned the 'Lakhpati Didi' campaign, which aims to make over three crore women financially independent, with a target to empower three crore more by 2030. Furthermore, under the 'PM Matru Vandana Yojana,' more than 7.3 crore pregnant and lactating women have received over ₹20,000 crore in financial assistance. The increasing participation of women in the armed forces, Sainik Schools, and the National Defence Academy (NDA) were highlighted as reflections of true women's empowerment. Additionally, over 32 crore women's bank accounts have been opened under the Jan Dhan Yojana, and 4.5 crore accounts under the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana.

Saini also touched upon enhanced internal security, noting the rapid progress towards a Naxal-free India and a strong crackdown on terrorism, which has significantly strengthened the nation's security apparatus. He confidently predicted that PM Modi would continue to serve as the 'pradhan sevak' (prime servant) of the country for a fourth term in 2029. In stark contrast to the BJP's transparent and service-oriented governance, Saini accused the Congress of being entangled in corruption during its regime, with development not progressing at the required pace. He alleged that the Congress had historically obstructed initiatives aimed at national development and women's empowerment, engaging in a 'politics of obstruct, delay and mislead.' Saini concluded by asserting that the Congress has lost its political ground due to its failures and lack of respect for women, contrasting it with the BJP's commitment to women's dignity, rights, and leadership.
